Main Street Manayunk is the core ‘downtown’ area of the Manayunk neighborhood in Philadelphia, PA. It is about a half-mile stretch lined with historic boutique brick and Victorian structures featuring dozens of restaurants, shops, fitness boutiques, and galleries.

Yes, the street is called Main Street. You can find just about anything on this quaint historic street whether you are looking for a music record, comic book, cup of coffee, unique gift, or a beautiful piece of art.

Does it have hills?

Although Manayunk is famous for its hills, the Main Street of Manayunk is relatively flat.

Where does Main Street begin?

Main Street Manayunk goes quite far, but generally the core of Main Street begins with Green Lane to the West and Shurs Lane to the East.

Check out the side streets as well. There can be hidden gems along side streets, such as The Brass Tap, and Boostin’ Bowls.

What kind of stores are on Main Street?

Yes, Manayunk coffee shops are some of the best locally owned and managed shops some of which serve their own roasted coffee blends. Additionally, most serve food which can be great for a casual breakfast or lunch. Check out Artseano Coffee, Valerio Coffee, Pilgrim Roasters, and Volo Coffeehouse. For example, grab a breakfast bagel sandwich at Valerio or Sandwich at Artseano.

Also, on weekends during select times of years Artseano Coffee operates a brunch food truck outside.

Is Main Street Pet Friendly?

Yes, Manayunk has tons of pet-friendly restaurants. Many of the pet-friendly restaurants will allow you to sit with your dog outside while you eat. Stop at Pretzel Park along the way at the dog run. Yes, most stores on Main Street Manayunk are locally owned and unique. There are very few (if any) national chains on this street, making for a unique curated shop local in Philadelphia experience.

What else can I do near Main St?

Directly behind Main Street is the Tow Path (part of Schuylkill River Trail) which is great for walking, biking, running, and more. You can also head over to the Wissahickon Park for tons of trails and adventures. Check for shows and activities at Venice Island Performing Arts, Jazz Jam sessions on select days at Manayunk Brewery, Year-Round events (check MDC website), Manayunk-Roxborough Arts Center, and more. Manayunk is really something special. It has all the convenience and benefits of living in a major city, but with a quieter atmosphere and small-town charm. It is also, generally speaking, more affordable than living in Center City.
