Types of Apartments
There are predominantly three types of apartments in Manayunk.
- Individually owned Apartments – this includes individual houses for rent, small apartments located above main street’s commercial stores, and even small 4-to-5-unit multi-family dwellings inside of historical houses.
- Individually Owned Townhomes – there are a variety of homes/townhomes for rent throughout Manayunk. Many are owned by individuals.
- Mid-Rise – There are a variety of mid-rise buildings (some historical buildings and some new construction). Most have been built or renovated in the last 10 to 30 years.
All apartments in Manayunk are low-rise or mid-rise.
There are not any high-rises in Manayunk which is part of the charm. There are also not many garden-style walk apartments.

Things to Consider
Parking
Does the Manayunk Apartment offer parking? Additionally, is there available parking if you sign a lease?
Distance from Main Street
How close is the apartment to Main Street? Main Street is a hub of restaurants, shops, retail, fitness boutiques, and more.
A visit can be helpful.
Distance from Train Station
If you want or need a train, then check out how close (walking distance it is to the train) (see benefits of living near public transportation)
Amenities
Do you want a gym in your building? If this is important to you, be sure there is a gym.
Quality of Finishes
This is obvious, but do you like the quality of finishes and materials used on the outside and inside? Does it look visually appealing?
Sound Control
Ask what sound control measures are in place. While sound control can be tricky, and no building is 100% soundproof, the landlord or leasing agent should be able to explain what sound control measures are in place. Do people complain of paper thin walls and floors?
Management
After you move in, the management of the building becomes almost as important as the building itself. Will management be responsive to your needs? What is the reputation? Do they offer 24/7 emergency service?
Exterior Quality
How is the exterior of the building? Beauty? Landscaping? Does it appear to be well-kept up? Is there trash outside?
Unique Features
What unique features (if any) are in place? Listen to what they offer, take tours, and decide.

Where to Find Manayunk Apartments
Check out the main apartment listing websites for the Manayunk area, including Apartments.com, ApartmentGuide, Zillow, and Trulia.
A couple of points to consider:
- On these websites, you will find mostly apartment buildings. Having said that, at the bottom of your search, some have listings from individual landlords. Make sure it is a legitimate listing and not a scam.
- Also, some of these apartment listing websites display ‘Manayunk Apartments’ are in nearby towns (not just Manayunk). Searching for Manayunk Zip code (19127) will narrow your results to Manayunk proper.
We wish you the best of luck on your Manayunk apartment search. Hopefully, this article was helpful.
