The Inspiration
What does ‘The Roe’ mean?
The Roe was born out of a desire to create something new. Something innovative. Something that would change the game.
How can one deliver a unique residential standard that doesn’t exist anywhere else? One where we honor the history of the site, but innovate for the future.
How do we develop a name for a truly unique community – one with certified historical buildings, combined with new construction, parks, solar, EV Chargers, near one of America’s best small towns, and a block from the train?
We knew that was a challenge.
That’s where it started.
The name came after.
Our History
How do we tie the name to this kind of project?
Inspired by the many murals in Manayunk (of which some are named after historical figures), we looked to history. 1
Right before us…was the address (172 ConarROE Street) on the street aptly named after the famous George M. Conarroe.
And it hit us.
The Roe at Manayunk was born.
